Herschel F. Baumgartner is an old man, lifetime resident of King Falls and four-time winner of the King Falls Bass Tournament (1989, 1992, 2014, 2015). He often mentions his time fighting in World War II and is known for his curmudgeonly temperament and foul language. Herschel was married to a woman named Edna, who passed away before the start of the show. He is considered a close friend of the show, and his best friend is Cecil Sheffield.
